Read and comprehend project specifications
Prepare accurate cost estimates using historical data and productivity modules for purpose of planning and organizing capital work
Analyze engineered drawings and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates
Conduct special studies to develop and establish standard hour and related cost data
Monitor project costs and revenues by reviewing internal project reports
Experienced in vendor quotes, engineering cost estimates, detailed competitively firm price bids, cost plus estimates and change order review
Understand construction methods, specifications, and materials utilized in the electric power industry
Possess strong organizational, communication, problem solving, and interpersonal skills and a desire to work in a highly functional team environment
Communicate frequently with the internal/external stakeholders regarding project status Display a professional and courteous behavior to co-workers, supervisors, customers and the general public
Possess a strong understanding of Microsoft products such as Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Experience in both EcoSys and Primavera is a plus
This person must possess keen analytical skills and be adept in mathematics and be capable of working in a high stress, team oriented environment.
A strong background in project management, estimating, and construction are preferred.
BS Degree or a combination of education plus equivalent work experience
College Degree AAS/BS
10 years experience in project cost estimating
Certified Cost Consultant, Certified Cost Engineer, or Certified Cost Technician, through the Association for the Advancement of Cost Engineering.
Electric utility experience, especially in the transmission line and substation disciplines
