The Web Application Developer - Learning creates Internet based sales tools and resources based on approved creative concepts. Deliverables can include targeted emails, microsites, campaign specific landing pages, regular and rich media banner placements, video interstitials, and special projects (web-based apps, console and mobile ads, games, downloadable incentive gifts, WordPress themes etc.). Development includes mobile and desktop versioning, language versioning, backend database encoding, vector animation, and formatting across multiple platforms, devices and browsers with a focus on cohesive playback and display.


Day-to-day publishing of content on internal web content management platforms based upon client requests and scheduled changes. These routine activities are generally conducted according to policies provided by leadership. 

Review of content in content management system to ensure it is accurate, timely and relevant to the business. Revision and coaching of publishers who publish to the web content management platform to ensure they are following policies and understand the tools. 

Leverage advanced web development skills (HTML, JavaScript and CSS programming/coding) to overcome limitations of the content management/publishing platforms. This is very task-specific requiring the position to problem-solve and make decisions about the best way to handle a technical problem within the platform or technology construct. Some web sites that are maintained contain thousands of pages of content and involve highly complex web functionality. Position is accountable for researching, prototyping and recommending enhancements to the systems and platforms to leadership. Position will perform application development tasks using scripting languages using programming languages like PHP, Perl, Swift, Objective-C and/or Cocoa when producing applications for web and mobile platforms. 

Development of artwork and visual elements (graphic design) for web-based and mobile applications. The role reviews business requirements and requests from clients and recommends and produces artwork that supports the content (e.g., navigational menus, accompanying diagrams, logos, decorative elements). This includes extensive development of user interface (UX) elements to aid operation and navigation on web sites and mobile applications.


Advanced HTML scripting, CSS, Advanced JavaScript programming, Advanced PHP programming. Advanced user interface graphic design skills, 1-2 years experience developing complex web sites using content management systems like WordPress and web publishing technologies, 1-2 years of experience developing mobile applications and mobile web sites.


Required Education: Certification or Equivalent Experience

Preferred: Bachelor' s Degree in Related Field
