Supports the operation and maintenance of the company by inspecting recently installed distribution facilities, and comparing their installation to what was called for by engineering and what was posted by GIS technicians.
Serves as the second level of the classification series, and incumbents at this level are expected to work independently, or as part of a team, under minimal supervision. Incumbent is expected to be highly familiar with commonly used distribution facilities, and to be able to use computerized work management systems and GIS viewer applications.
Extensive use of vehicle (mileage paid) required to perform field audits, as well as use of company laptop computer and MIFI.
Typical items to be audited include overhead and underground switches, reclosers, regulators, transformers, and reconductoring / rephasing jobs.
High school diploma or equivalent, plus seven years relevant work experience
Ideal candidate would have a distribution line and service or field design engineering/technical background
7+ years’ of safe working and driving experience would be ideal
General knowledge of GIS systems (smallworld, ArcGis, Arcview etc) a plus
