Candidate will work on a team that obtains and builds Network LAN/WAN, and deploys, powers up and connects new systems to the network, with minimum disruption to business operations. They verify systems are operational before being released to production, and provides after-care assistance as needed.
Will be responsible for supporting a Large Enterprise network of over 1000+ networking devices.
Will be responsible for tier 3 support when severe incidents are escalated beyond capabilities of the operational teams.
Will be responsible for carrying a project load of 5-10 projects.
Projects are both internally network driven initiatives such as replacing firewalls, routers or switches approaching end of service or externally driven such as new application environments, new data center builds and expansion.
Hours: This position is standard work week M-F under normal operations however, on-call requirements for this position include participation in the Tier 3 rotation. This means that candidate will work weekends including Sundays and over the 5 days p/week AS NEEDED but not always. Some work is project related and meeting deadlines is crucial on this Network team so availability and flexibility to work 7-days sometimes as needed, is a requirement.
Eight plus years of experience in network engineering
Expert level requirements are in Routing and Switching, Layer 3 routing protocols, MPLS, Firewall administration and Load Balancing.
Platform specific experience is preferred in: Palo Alto Firewalls, Cisco ASA, Nexus, F5 Big IP, Cisco ISE, Solarwinds.
Five years network planning and project experience is required.
