Kavaliro is seeking a skilled Technical Specialist, Retail Supply Systems. The Technical Specialist’ s role is to define the overall strategy, plan the execution and execute to successful completion. This includes architecture, designing, configuring, developing, testing, integrating, implementing and supporting software programs and applications. The technical specialist will also research, design, document, and modify software specifications throughout the product life-cycle. The technical specialist will serve as a key contact with the user community for solving business issues as well as providing support and guidance to other analysts on the team. This role must also understand wireless scanner solutions to provide and deploy iSeries emulation software to allow connectivity to Retail Supply Chain applications.
Ideal candidate would be very versed in RPG, RPGIL, RPG Free, whole RPG suite.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Collaborate with internal partners in conceptualizing and development of software programs and applications.
Lead in the definition, development, and documentation of software’ s business requirements, objectives, deliverables, and specification on a project-by-project basis in collaboration with internal users and departments.
Liaise with other technical staff to assist in resolving problems with software products or company software systems at all locations.
Provide support and guidance for various hardware and software upgrades and integrations.
Provide a system support role for day-to-day systems operations
Follow established methodologies and provide input to improve practices. Use established development and support tools to meet Service Level Agreements. Use established project management tools to report project statuses for IT dashboards and reports and track time for approved projects. Work directly with Technology management and participate in regular meetings with the user community.
Good understanding and execution of monitoring and alerting
Good understanding of data integration tools and experience working with at least one tool.
Good understanding of OS/400 and DB2
Good experience with development tools
Estimating work or project effort for proposed solutions.
Excellent ability to design and develop custom integrations, data extracts and loads
Technical and functional understandings of past and recent JDA versions

Bachelor’ s degree: Required - MIS, Computer Science, IT, Business
Master’ s degree in: MIS, Computer Science, IT, Business Preferred
Other: Knowledge and technical understanding of JDA MMS application preferred.
Minimum 7-10 years of work experience in an IT Support function
Experience supporting large Retail Supply Chain applications in planning, execution of installations, and upgrades in support of a multi-location application. Preferably a minimum of 5 years supporting JDA MMS.
Experience integrating Retail Supply Chain applications to various other applications.
Experience applying technical solutions to business requirements.
Experience with general programming/scripting languages.
Excellent experience with RPG programming skills
Excellent experience with SQL coding skills
Excellent experience with CL programming skills
Preferred experience with database foundations for modeling, configuration and information management.
Hospitality or Entertainment industry experience strongly desired
