Business Data Analyst

Position is accountable for tracking and reporting business metrics and monitoring actuals to plan. Provides effective analysis that drives plans to achieve goals. Supports team when developing new business models.
Develops processes to accurately calculate cost and revenue. Works within systems and software including, Microsoft, Power BI, CAPs, Salesforce, SharePoint and external subscriptions. Proficiency in advance excel (pivot table, coding, vlook-ups, etc.) is needed.
Reporting and Analytics Develop reports with data from internal and external systems to provide accurate analytics for team members to establish plans to achieve goals.
Provide effective analysis and make recommendations to achieve specific objectives.
Create monthly, quarterly and annual reports to analyze actual vs plan for operating expenses, labor and sales.
Provide value-add reporting and analytics.
Identifies best practices or process improvement opportunities.
Engages and communicates effectively with fellow employees and key stakeholders in identifying opportunities that positively impact company financials by leveraging resources, processes, and technologies.
Proficiency in advance excel (pivot table, vlook-ups, etc.) is needed.
Review and provide input into cost, revenue and profit reporting Expense Management
Provide expense coding guidance across team.
Monitor monthly charges to ensure accuracy.
Work with Finance to l Review, Pricing Model and Contract Development.
Provide insight and guidance for building new proposals to hit financial thresholds.
Support development of new business models General Support

Drive continuous process improvements.
Document key support processes to ensure accuracy, cross train and seamless coverage during transitions.
Provide various administrative and team support as needed.
May be required to work on ad-hoc financial projects in support of program
Bachelor’ s degree in Finance, Business or related major
Experience in data analysis and problem solving
Strong interpersonal skills to work with people across departments and at all levels of an organization
Proficient in Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, OneNote, Access, etc.)
Master’ s Degree in Business, Finance or related major
Minimum 3yrs experience in Project Controls function
Demonstrated leadership skills
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Experience with Salesforce, Business Objects, PowerPlan, SharePoint, CAPS, and Maximo or related. -Previous Duke Experience preferred
