This individual will be expected to work with a small team of Project Controls Analysts and Schedulers, interfacing primarily with Project Managers and Financial Analysts. This position will perform cost analysis for a portfolio of I/T and construction projects budgeted anywhere from $30M to $100M annual spend.
This position will compare monthly actuals to the project budget(s), identifying all variances. This position will be responsible for evaluating and assessing the variances, identifying trends and burn rates to be presented to project leadership.
A critical element of this work will be to generate reliable financial forecasts for the project(s) each month based on the analysis.
This position must have a proven track record working with contingency budgets, direct and indirect labor charges, accruals, overheads, allocations, earned value calculations, and monetized risks.
Prior experience in a similar role on large construction or I/T project is needed.
The individual selected for this role must have strong technical skills and the ability to integrate large amounts of data from multiple databases or systems.
Must be able to work with minimal supervision.
Strong interpersonal skills will allow him or her to work successfully in a matrix organization and a team environment. Influencing skills and the ability to take a complicated subject and quickly identify the areas which are critical for implementing a successful project are required. Must have very strong organizational skills, computer skills, writing and communication skills, strong problem-solving skills.
Expert level knowledge of EXCEL a must.
Some knowledge or working in SQL Server databases is a plus.
Proven experience working in this role on large projects a must. Depending on project, some travel is likely.
