The Sr. Public Engagement Specialist leads the company' s strategic outreach efforts for all major transmission projects including infrastructure siting and construction activities in Pinellas and Pasco counties, along with other communities in the surrounding area.
This position requires in-depth knowledge and experience and will coordinate  complex communications internally and externally.

The primary responsibilities of the Sr. Public Engagement Specialist is to lead the company' s strategic outreach efforts for all major projects including siting and construction activities.
This position will lead all outreach activities and initiatives including preparing and coordinating external written communications to property owners and other stakeholders, response, dispatch and tracking of external project inquiries, and monitoring and tracking project information. This position also engages and informs key internal stakeholders of the projects taking place and works to ensure a smooth execution of projects.
Participate in transmission project team meetings and processes including field reviews and meetings with local Community Relations Managers to determine appropriate public engagement strategy.
Organize external communications such as letters, collateral and presentations as needed in coordination with internal communications departments, internal management, legal, engineering, siting team, etc.
Coordinate the printing and mailing of external communications.
Monitor property owner inquiries on assigned projects and manage response and documentation. Maintaining Salesforce site and other project documentation and reporting.
Lead the preparation and implementation of public information meetings and participate in public hearings as required.

Basic Qualifications
Five to eight years of related experience Bachelors degree from a four year college or university.
Strong communication skills (verbal and written) necessary to interact with project managers
Community Relations Managers, management, other employees and external community representatives and organizations.
Good working knowledge in Microsoft Office programs.

Desired Qualifications
Bachelors degree in mass communications, public relations or related degree from a four year college or university
Five to eight years of experience in public relations, community affairs, stakeholder engagement, corporate communications
Experience in siting or external affairs 
Salesforce application experience
