Kavaliro is seeking a Bigfix specialist in the Chicago area.  Responsibilities include: 
  • Responsible for ensuring patch compliance levels are met using the Bigfix tool in both the Windows and Linux/Unix environment
  • Implement and maintain server security settings, report on deviations and remediate.   Architecting solutions and work them through analysis and implementation.
  • Provide expert level support for Windows Server 2008R2, 2012 and 2016.  Including installation, configuration and administration.
  • Automate repetitive tasks including system builds, configuration and application installation processes.
  • Assess and solve issues in a high-pressure environment.  Including participation in researching solutions to various business and technical problems.
  • Provide Tier 3 support for customers and technical staff.
  • Create and maintain system documentation.
  • Interact with business and evaluate vendor products.
  • Work independently with little guidance from supervisor/manager
  • Ability to collaborate with resources across multiple disciplines.  Including Engineering, Networking, Application Development and Information Security.
  • Provide performance analysis, tuning and optimization on various hardware platforms.
  • Work as the technical liaison between management, employees, vendors, support and consultants.
  • Participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation
  • Expertise in Windows Server 2008R2, 2012 and 2016.  Unix/Linux a plus
  • BigFix security and domain management with a strong emphasis on security.
  • Must have fluid scripting skills for Windows (Linux a plus)
  • Knowledge of Active Directory, including Group Policies and Certificate Authority.
  • Knowledge and basic troubleshooting of VMWare guests
  • Knowledge and basic troubleshooting of x86 hardware including HP and Cisco UCS
  • Basic understanding of DB and Middleware installation and management.  Such as SQL and IIS
  • Knowledge of remote access and system management tools such as RDP, Microsoft Systems Operations Manager, Microsoft Systems Configuration Manager, IBM Big Fix, HP Systems Management Home Page, UCS Manager, HP Integrated Lights-Out and Microsoft Active Directory.
  • Must have strong communication, organizational and time management skills.  As well as a motivated self-starter
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • Must be able to author work instructions, best practice documents and scripts which can be followed by others.
  • Demonstrate the ability to master new and diverse technologies.
  • Proven ability to work well in and contribute to a team environment
  • MCSE, ITIL Process improvement experience.
  • Bachelor' s Degree in related technical discipline and 6+ years of related IT and Windows systems operations and engineering experience.
  • Additional experience is acceptable in lieu of a Degree.
