Senior Manufacturing Engineering Manager

This role will lead a high performance engineering team and shall encompass the management and mentoring of Manufacturing Engineers. This role will include leading and managing an engineering team to meet internal and external customer requirements, be process oriented, be able to identify and mitigate risks, be familiar with manpower management and able to manage and motivate engineers professionally both as a team and as individuals. • Execute programs through proper management of budget, management of manpower, design to cost targets, Design For Manufacturing and Assembly, compliance to requirements and strong internal customer focus. • Evaluates electrical mechanical systems for design, performance, manufacturability and requirement analysis. • Familiarity with mechanical design packaging, castings, machining, plastic injected molded fabrications, product and piece part cost reductions. • Reviews project documentation and TDP for compliance to internal company standards, industry standards as completeness to support the design for manufacture • Prepares product reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends and submit reports to engineering director. • Experience in composing process documentation, assembly instructions and ability to train others in these areas. • Organize staff and create work assignments that achieve both project objectives and promote both individual and team growth and development. • Partners with Product Engineering and Operations in development of capital budgets • Responsible for coordinating space planning and infrastructure requirements with Operations based on capital and program requirements • Able to present design review status and at external customer briefings. • Contributes and grows the core team by accomplishing desired results as needed and drive team efficiencies through best practices and mentoring. • Collaborate with peer managers to ensure consistency across multiple work groups including supporting design reviews. • Demonstrated success in working in a team environment and strong interpersonal skills. • Ability to make and implement quick decisions to keep product builds on schedule and within budget

Required Experience/Education:

10 or more years of experience in aerospace industry Bachelor’ s degree in Engineering discipline required and Master’ s degree preferred. Experience with Engineering and Manufacturing Quality process and tools. Experience with Product Data Management and Product Lifecycle Management Tools and Process required. Ability to manage engineering change process. Ability to manage technical data and technical documentation processes. Ability to manage manufacturing process planning and design for manufacturability/assembly strongly preferred. Knowledge of aerospace structures, development and lifecycle Setting high goals for personal and group accomplishment; using measurement methods to monitor progress toward goal attainment; tenaciously working to meet or exceed those goals while deriving satisfaction from the process of goal achievement and continuous improvement. Knowledge of various engineering disciplines such as electrical, mechanical, and systems. Knowledge of responsibilities and tasks performed by various engineering disciplines. Knowledge of the interaction between disciplines and how their product/processes affect one another and impact non-engineering processes. Understands, builds, and uses industry knowledge for planning and performance accomplishment. This includes knowledge of competition and strategic partners. The ability to state what is needed to persuade and convince others without causing defensiveness and to inspire others to take action. Ability to build relationships to gain support and commitment from others, promote ideas with enthusiasm, conviction, and assertiveness. Ability to provide compelling rationale for arguments and use appropriate levels of persistence to meet objectives.
