Job Description

Kavaliro is seeking engineers for our hot game studio client working on one of the most anticipated games set to be released in 2024. We are looking for a professional interested in videogame AI to help us build AI behaviors and systems that enhance the realism, challenge and player engagement in our games. Central to the success of this game are AI behaviors that military veterans have identified as more realistic than other games, and we are continuing to grow these capabilities to deliver unexpected and compelling experiences.


Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with AI designers and other AI engineers to create AI behaviors and systems in both C++ and Unreal Blueprints.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain AI algorithms and systems in Unreal Engine, encompassing pathfinding, decision-making, and navigation.
  • Enhance the efficiency of AI systems for more advanced AI behaviors and increased numbers of active NPCs in our games.
  • Design and implement responsive and adaptive AI systems, delivering dynamic and captivating player experiences.
  • Work closely with animation and character teams to seamlessly integrate AI behaviors with character animations and models.
  • Optimize AI systems for performance and memory usage to uphold high frame rates and support numerous active NPCs.
  • Identify and resolve AI-related bugs and unwanted behaviors throughout development and post-release support phases.
  • Conduct player behavior analysis during playtests to identify opportunities for enhancing player experiences.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Proficient in C++ programming.
  • Experience in Unreal Engine development.
  • Familiarity with visual scripting.
  • Understanding of behavior trees and fundamental principles of video game AI.
  • Previous experience with multiplayer and networked game AI is a valuable asset.
  • Strong interest in tactical first-person shooters.
