AV Technician
Job Description
Duties:Â Â
Core responsibilities
Direct A/V support for classrooms, academic spaces, and events
Troubleshooting moderately complex A/V and classroom technology issues
Supporting installations, setups, system status, and downtime procedures
Training, scheduling, and managing staff and/or student employees
Skills:Â Â Â
- Key skills
- Streaming and web-conferencing knowledge
- Camera operation
- Understanding of room A/V equipment
- Portable sound reinforcement and video projection
- Strong customer service
- Adaptability, organization, communication, and flexibility
- Willingness to work extended hours when needed
Education:Â Â Â
Minimum qualifications
- Associate’s degree plus 2 years of related experience, or equivalent combination
- Experience with A/V and classroom controller hardware/software
- Technical knowledge of video and web conferencing tools
- Experience with both Windows and Apple systems
- Preferred qualifications
- InfoComm CTS certification
- Experience in higher education A/V or technology support
- Experience training others on technology use
