RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Leading and managing the (Informatica) ETL and MDM data services technical support and maintenance staff to ensure the operational support, stability and performance of our enterprise data services platform.
  • Assist in solution architecture as well as take part in hands on development of ETL platform solutions and standards as it relates to maintenance tasks (break fixes and small enhancements) as well as the identification and implementation of continuous improvement updates through optimization and automation solutions.
  • Lead and drive triaging calls and root cause analysis sessions in response to system incidents and problem resolution.
  • Guide and lead senior engineers to create the system and detailed technical design on Capital projects. Work with onsite/offshore teams across multiple technologies/applications to implement any changes related to P2s and maintenance items.
  • Assure team uses best practices in design and implementation of the system
  • Review proposed solutions by technical staff and guide them toward an efficient and performant implementation for both maintenance and capital items.
  • Communicate designs and technical requirements with technical team and manage implementation of the overall system
  • Development and design oversight, maintenance triage calls with stakeholders and maintenance releases.
  • Coordinate with Architecture on significant system design decisions

 

Complexity
  • This position demands active participation across multiple functions and departments along with working relationships with the various Business and IT divisions as a peer and colleague.
  • This position will require the ability to work in a highly integrated production support environment where teamwork, communication, and trust are critical to success.
  • Authority exercised in the role will be around representing interests of business customers within the scope of the systems supported, services offered, business processes supported and work queue. Authority will be in the overall support of the data services platform and governing the stability and operational performance. Should influence others in driving triaging calls and maintenance solutions.

 

Scope/Financial Responsibility
This person will be expected work diligently to ensure the operational stability and performance of the production environment. Periodically, this person will be required to work overtime and/or provide periodic off-hours support.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum BS in Computer Science/Information Systems or related field and/or equivalent experience. Master' s Degree in Computer Science preferred
  • 8+ years of experience in leading or managing complex, large scale, enterprise wide data integration service related platforms.
  • 12+ years of technical work experience of core development and/or operational support and subject matter expertise in BI/DW and data integration services such as Informatica.
  • Strong background dealing with data strategy and architecture.
  • Strong experience leading multi-site and/or off-shore development teams.
  • Experience in designing and implementing data warehouse and data mart architecture and solutions based on understanding business needs.
  • Understanding and implementation experience in big data platforms.
  • Multi-platform/multi-applications operation support environment knowledge.
  • Experience with various software development estimation techniques.
  • Experience with Incident, Change and Problem Management.
  • Experience with ITSM Tools (Service Now or Samanage or any other ticket tracking tools).
  • Must provide oversight, management of and participate in on call 24 x 7 support.
  • Deep experience in designing/architecting/leading highly scalable, distributed BI/DW, Big Data and data integration solutions
  • Strong experience in Service Oriented Architecture design, development, governance, B2B integration and deployment.
  • Expertise in data warehousing using Informatica Power Center, Informatica Master Data Management, IDD and Informatica Cloud Integration.
  • Strong experience in Oracle, DB2, Postgres etc.
  • Strong experience in AWS technologies and services including but not limiting to Redshift, DynamoDB, etc.
  • Strong experience in debugging and performance tuning of mappings/sessions etc.
  • Experience in Informatica IDQ and Data Quality tools
  • Experience with Hadoop, HDFS, Python, Scala and Big Data
  • Experience in database design and dimensional modeling, Start and Snowflake schemas
  • Experience with database architecture for OLTP and OLAP applications and ETL processes
  • Experience in Informatica Cloud and Informatica Cloud real-time services
  • Experience in developing complex mappings in Informatica with various transformations including Web consumer, SQL transformation, XML generator, XML parser etc.
  • ETL experience in dealing with JSON Sources & Targets
  • Strong in Unix shell scripting
  • Solid understanding of industry best-practices, technology and trends.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand high level business requirements.
  • Ability to communicate technical issues to audiences with varying levels of technical acumen.
  • Ability to drive root cause analysis and triaging calls.
