AutoCAD Technician
Job Description
- 3+ years of AutoCad and/or AutoCad Civil 3D experience
- Associates Degree Drafting is preferred
- Attention to detail and the ability to accomplish recurring tasks
- Beneficial but Not Required (Preferred Skills)
- Knowledge of substation electric schematics and wiring diagrams
- Knowledge of basic civil engineering principles
- Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3DAD
Job Description:
Our client is seeking an Autocad Technician for a contract opportunity.
Responsibilities:
- Advanced level engineering support utilizing AutoCAD (possibly including: AutoCAD Electrical, and AutoCAD Civil 3D) software for utility design projects.
- Drafting, design, maintenance and preparation of electrical substation and transmission engineering projects using AutoCAD/AutoCAD Civil 3D software.
- Perform QA/QC for projects in design and as-built phases.
- Preparing physical and mechanical layouts, plan and profile, schematics, and wiring diagrams for substation projects from detailed sketches, verbal instructions, and notes under the direction of an engineer or senior engineering support personnel.
- Prepares construction drawings (CAD) and materials specifications; ensures that construction materials meet specifications.
- Identifying additional information needed for mechanical and civil designs. (Survey data)
- Creation of basic 3D models using AutoCAD programs for electric substation layouts.
- Design of steel, concrete and rebar used in electric substation applications.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 3+ years of AutoCad and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D experience
