Sr. Construction Manager
Under the general direction of a Project Director and / or Sr. Project Manager, this position has single point construction accountability for all aspects of capital power generation related projects associated with CCP Projects at the Mayo generation facility. The projects are mainly Civil in nature, and will require strong experience with Civil site construction including grading, compaction, and site management. The projects are very complex and the success is very important to the department. The Construction Manager is accountable to ensure all project field success factors are met, including but not limited to scope, schedule, cost, quality, environmental, safety, communications, security, and integration. The position will work directly with the CCP Project manger to serve as the unifying field agent providing site leadership, Construction management, direction, coordination, and control of the project execution phase in accordance with the established policies, procedures, systems, and requirements
Provide leadership, oversight management, and coordination to the various internal and external organizations that are providing services to the project construction effort (engineering, project controls, estimating, supply chain, legal, EHS, QA/QC, operations, security, transmission, etc.). The CM manages all aspects of the site construction team on a daily basis and is responsible for evaluating project teams appropriately and for keeping the project on schedule and compliant will all CCP procedures and policies.
Assist with Project Planning, Constructability review, Contractor selection, Readiness Review evaluation, schedule formation and monitoring, cost control measures, start-up and commissioning plans, and integration processes. This includes the following project phases; construction, start-up and commissioning, turnover to operations, and warranty oversight.
Assist with the update, and enforcement of the Project Execution Plan (PEP) for the project that includes objectives, stakeholders, scope, roles and responsibilities, assumptions and constraints, deliverables, WBS, schedule, contractor and supplier strategy, budget, lessons learned, risk plan, quality plan, safety plan, environmental plan, security plan, integration plan, communications and reporting plan, change management, and project close out.
Manage all construction/start-up deficiencies that impact cost, schedule, performance, environmental, safety, and quality (potential change orders, change orders, RFIs, non-conformances, contractual disputes, scope gaps, etc.)
Provide daily contract management oversight and adherence throughout the project for all contracts (equipment, services, engineering, procurement, construction (EPC), consulting, staff augmentation, etc.).
Field engineering and construction oversight; monitor the engineering and construction plan performance and implement corrective action if appropriate. Identify and mitigate all risk items that may jeopardize safety, cost, schedule, performance, quality, or environmental compliance.
Valid Drivers license
Strong Civil Site work Background Licensed Contractor, or Engineering degree
OSHA 30 hr.
Project related work experience
Previous experience managing providing oversight of contract construction personnel.
Ability to produce, read and provide input to a project schedule including resources, durations and critical path activities
Capable of learning quickly, working independently and in a team environment.
Demonstrated ability to be flexible and adapt to constant changing of work needs and priorities.
Demonstrated ability to effectively drive result. Demonstrated experience in making decisions, exercising good judgment and setting priorities.
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with management Strong Computer skills in Microsoft office products Preferred knowledge of Primavera (P6)
