Job Description
Kavaliro has partnered with a client who is seeking a hybrid Assistant Controller. As an Assistant Controller you will play a vital role in overseeing accounting functions, ensuring compliance with GAAP, and providing strategic guidance to the finance team. You will utilize your extensive accounting experience, strong Excel skills, and knowledge of GAAP to drive efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting processes. Additionally, you will be responsible for managing both Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) departments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage month-end and year-end close processes, including preparation and review of financial statements, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements in financial reporting and accounting practices.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to the accounting team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
- Oversee the AP and AR departments, including vendor management, invoice processing, billing, and collections.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis initiatives.
- Assist with the implementation and maintenance of accounting systems and processes, with MS Dynamics experience being a plus.
- Prepare and present financial reports and analysis to senior management and stakeholders.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field required.
- CPA certification required.
- 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory roles.
- Strong proficiency in Excel and working knowledge of GAAP.
- Experience overseeing both Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable departments.
- Experience with MS Dynamics is preferred but not required.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
