Electromagnetics Engineer
Job Description
The ideal candidate for this position should have both design and practical experience in:
- Microwave components, antenna products, and radomes
- In-depth understanding of microwave network analysis and antenna theory
- Microwave antenna/component testing, waveguides, and experience using microwave network analyzers and other microwave measurement instruments
- Antenna and radome design
- In-depth understanding of dielectric material properties and dielectric constant testing; familiarity with composite materials is desirable
- Strong knowledge of wave propagation and attenuation effects
- Familiarity with anechoic chambers
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of scattering theory and S-parameter measurements; understanding of space frame/sandwich radomes is preferred
- Proficiency in using MATLAB/Mathematica, along with the ability to understand and develop programming code
- Familiarity with 3D EM analysis tools; experience with EMPro is highly desirable
- Technical support for manufacturing, QC, and CAD departments, as well as continuous product improvement
- Ability to communicate effectively with mechanical engineering teams
- Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively in a small business environment
- Ability to clear a background check with no prior convictions or arrests
- Past experience with DoD projects is desirable
The selected candidate will work closely with the President of the company and the existing Electromagnetics Group. Responsibilities include:
- Collaborating with engineers and department managers to design and validate products that meet customer safety, performance, and reliability standards
- Utilizing 2D/3D EM analysis tools and developing custom computer programs
- Performing RF measurements and preparing technical reports and technical memos for ongoing and prospective customer projects
- Assisting the engineering and marketing departments in preparing technical proposals and contributing to various company-wide assignments
- Actively participating in in-house design and development activities to support continuous product improvement and new technology advancements
- Participating in design review meetings and factory acceptance testing when necessary to present related work
- Graduate degree in RF/Microwave/Antenna Engineering (Ph.D. preferred but not required)
- U.S. citizenship
