Job Description

Kavaliro is seeking a senior Healthcare SME/Business Analyst to lead a 4-week discovery engagement for a healthcare organization with ~100 facilities. Partnering with client stakeholders and software architects, this role will assess operational and back-office processes, identify automation and transformation opportunities, and develop practical solution recommendations.

Pay: $75-80 per hour

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct stakeholder interviews across operations, clinical administration, finance, and IT.
  • Document current-state processes, systems, data flows, pain points, controls, staffing, and vendor dependencies.
  • Identify and quantify opportunities for process improvement, automation, AI, integration, and vendor consolidation.
  • Prioritize initiatives based on business value, feasibility, effort, risk, and expected benefits.
  • Translate business needs into workflows, requirements, user stories, and solution concepts.
  • Collaborate with architects on rapid proof-of-concept activities.
  • Present findings to operational leaders and executives.
  • Deliver a discovery report, transformation roadmap, and business cases for priority initiatives.
Qualifications
  • 8+ years of experience in healthcare operations, business analysis, consulting, product management, or digital transformation.
  • Strong knowledge of multi-site provider or facility operations; experience in post-acute care, skilled nursing, senior living, behavioral health, ambulatory care, or similar settings preferred.
  • Experience with healthcare functions such as patient access, scheduling, eligibility verification, prior authorizations, referrals, medical records, revenue cycle, billing, procurement, workforce administration, and compliance.
  • Proven track record implementing process optimization, automation, AI-enabled solutions, shared services, or vendor consolidation.
  • Familiarity with EHR, practice management, ERP, RCM, workforce management, and healthcare interoperability platforms.
  • Working knowledge of HIPAA, PHI, access controls, auditability, and healthcare compliance requirements.
  • Strong analytical, facilitation, documentation, and executive communication skills.
