Project Manager IV - Healthcare Systems & Supply Chain Transformation
2200 River Plaza Drive Sacramento, CA 95833 US
Job Description
Project Manager IV – Healthcare Systems & Supply Chain Transformation
Location: 100% Remote with occasional travel required
Position Summary
This role leads high-impact, enterprise-level initiatives across healthcare operations, technology, HR systems, and supply chain transformation. The Project Manager IV operates with senior-level autonomy and is accountable for delivering multiple concurrent initiatives that intersect workforce systems, operational finance, sourcing, inventory, and enterprise platforms (e.g., Workday, Lawson, ERP, inventory systems).
This is a hands-on delivery role, not a status-meeting PM. Successful candidates bring deep operational credibility, healthcare systems experience, and the ability to translate complex workflows into scalable, system-enabled solutions.
Core Responsibilities
Enterprise Program & Project Leadership
Lead multiple large-scale, cross-functional initiatives spanning healthcare IT, HRIS/HCM, workforce systems, and supply chain operations.
Own full project lifecycle: intake, business case, roadmap, execution, stabilization, and value realization.
Manage scope, schedules, budgets, dependencies, risk, and executive-level reporting with minimal oversight.
Supply Chain & Operational Systems Enablement (Critical)
Lead projects involving strategic sourcing, inventory optimization, vendor management, contract lifecycle processes, and ERP integrations.
Partner with Supply Chain, Finance, and Clinical stakeholders to redesign workflows tied to purchasing, inventory, freight, vendor compliance, and cost controls.
Drive system adoption tied directly to measurable cost savings, compliance, and operational efficiency.
Healthcare Systems & Technology Delivery
Lead implementations and optimizations of HRIS, HCM, WFM, ERP, inventory, and contract management systems.
Oversee system configuration, testing, integrations, data validation, and go-live readiness.
Translate operational requirements into clear technical specifications for IT and vendor partners.
Process Improvement & Change Management
Lead enterprise process redesign across HR, payroll, timekeeping, supply chain, and finance operations.
Develop change management strategies including stakeholder alignment, communication planning, and training execution.
Stabilize complex or at-risk initiatives and drive adoption post-implementation.
Leadership & Governance
Direct cross-functional teams, including Project Managers, analysts, and operational SMEs.
Influence senior leaders and executives through clear, data-driven communication.
Ensure adherence to PMI standards, internal governance, and healthcare regulatory requirements.
Required Experience & Qualifications
Healthcare & Supply Chain Expertise (Non-Negotiable)
10+ years of experience leading complex initiatives within healthcare environments.
Demonstrated experience supporting or leading supply chain operations, including sourcing, contracting, inventory, or vendor management.
Proven ability to drive enterprise-level cost reduction, operational efficiency, and compliance through systems and process improvement.
Systems & Technology Experience
Hands-on experience with enterprise systems, such as:
Workday (HCM, Financials, or Supply Chain modules)
Lawson, McKesson, or similar ERP / supply chain platforms
Inventory or contract lifecycle management systems
Strong understanding of system integrations, data validation, and workflow configuration.
Data, Reporting & Analytics
Comfortable working with data to support decision-making, including spend analysis, KPI tracking, and operational reporting.
Experience partnering with analysts or IT teams using SQL, reporting tools, or enterprise dashboards (hands-on not required, but fluency expected).
Leadership & Execution
Track record of leading cross-functional teams through ambiguity and organizational change.
Known for operational credibility — able to engage clinicians, finance, supply chain, IT, and executives as a peer.
Experience coaching teams and elevating delivery discipline across large programs.
Preferred Attributes
Background in strategic sourcing, contract negotiation, or value analysis within healthcare.
Experience delivering system-enabled cost savings at enterprise scale.
Prior consulting or system-level health system experience strongly preferred.
