Job Title: Network Engineer
Position Overview: The Network Engineer is responsible for the deployment and configuration of routing and switching equipment, leading the implementation of related architectures, the identification and selection of requirements or new technologies. The scope of these responsibilities encompasses Network and Security architecture.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and perform network engineering research, design development, and other assignments in conformance with network design, engineering, and customer specifications.
- Implement identified solutions, making suggestions to ensuring a cost-effective and efficient infrastructure environment to provide the resources essential to enterprise operations.
- Lead IT projects intended to continually improve the IT infrastructure such as establishing requirements and evaluation of new solutions required to meet a business need or make more cost effective.
- Develop LAN/WAN strategies; evaluate and select hardware and software products, implement, and integrate these products into comprehensive solutions meeting company’s business requirements.
- Performs after-hours systems support, installation, and maintenance as required.
- Provide specialized technical expertise in researching and resolving complex technology network infrastructure problems which may involve coordination of hardware and software vendor support.
- Advise team members on procedures, techniques, and requirements to insure maximum performance and availability of the company infrastructure.
- Provide recommendations in areas for improvement in both processes and systems.
- Conduct implementations, conversions, and upgrades in a manner consistent with Standard Operating Procedures within company maintenance windows; including change management procedures.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, peers, project managers, and stakeholders.
- Author technical documentation such as network diagrams and procedures.
- Work closely with vendors on implementation of products and services
- Ensure security and operational standards and procedures are maintained in accordance with PAX IT compliance requirements, PCI standards, and industry best practices.
- Perform risk analysis to identify IT security issues and remediating plans.
- Identify and/or mitigate operational risks where appropriate.
- Analyze, plan, modify, and maintain network firewalls.
- Conduct internal studies of network firewalls performance and traffic analysis.
- Evaluate new technologies, and conducts testing of network and firewall (security) systems.
- Support and maintain a multi-site NPS and RADIUS based NAC.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications for position:
- Five or more years of relevant work experience with a bachelor's degree in computer science or related field.
- Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification.
- AWS Architect Associate or equivalent certification
- Network Security experience: Firewalls, Web Application Firewalls, NACLS, ACLS, IPS, IDS, Secure DNS, etc.
- Presentation skills, Time management, Organization skills
- Experience with Cisco LAN switching, Aruba wireless products, and internal wireless products.
- Dynamic and Static Network Routing, AAA, Netflow, QOS, VOIP, WPA-2, MPLS, TCP/IP, IPSec, BGP, OSPF, IP Telephony, Multicast, VSRRP, IPv6, DNS, MPLS, RADIUS.
- Familiarity with Wireshark, NMAP, PRTG, and/or other similar tools.
- Some experience with SD-WAN.
 Schedule:
- 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, Monday to Friday
- On-site work: This role requires on-site presence; no remote/hybrid work.
- Must have reliable transportation to commute to 32256
