Job Description
Job Title: Manufacturing Technician and Machinist
Reports to: Production Supervisor
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Summary
Works closely with Manufacturing Engineering and Production to support and improve manufacturing operation, including: producing tooling, running automated assembly machines, maintaining equipment, and machining prototype components.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
? Simultaneously operate and monitor multiple automated & semi-automated machines.
? Use a both manual and CNC lathes and/or mills to produce prototype components & tooling.
? Program CNC machine tool paths using CAM/CAD.
? Perform inspection of finished goods and sort rejects.
? Use SAP ERP to issue material, complete builds, & schedule machine time.
? Complete all documentation related to the job including recording: measurements through put, scrap, downtime & inventory used for each machine.
? Assist Manufacturing Engineering with developing production processes.
? Order raw material and tooling needed to machine components for builds & fixtures.
? Cycle count controlled inventory in the machine shop area.
? Maintain machines according to a PM schedule or as needed.
? Schedule machine fluid waste pick up.
? Work with Engineering to conduct experiments & produce test fixtures & components.
? Perform assembly work & direct temporary workers as needed.
? Lift up to 50 lbs. regularly & stand for extended periods of time.
? Maintain an organized & safe work environment including proper waste disposal.
? Performs other duties as assigned by manager.
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to:
? Set-up a CNC Lathe & Mill
? Read and understand engineering drawings.
? Proficient on Microsoft Office, Internet and email programs.
? Excellent written and oral communication skills.
? Understanding of GD&T on machined component prints a plus.
Education and/or Experience
? 2 years manufacturing environment.
? Experience in CNC equipment setup.
? Experience with CAM; Inventor HSM a plus
? Experience with inspection tools including snap gauges, calipers, micrometer, gauge pins.
? Basic Mechanical/electrical experience.
? Experience with hazardous material a plus.
