Process Designer

Job Description
Kavaliro is seeking a full-time Process Designer to work on projects in the food and beverage industry by creating equipment and piping layouts, developing drawing packages, and collaborating internally with engineers and externally with original equipment manufacturers (OEM) or Owners. A Process Designer has a strong technical aptitude, attention to detail, and finds creative solutions to solve challenges.
Responsibilities
- Create preliminary process equipment layouts in 2D AutoCAD
- Develop project models in 3D utilizing Revit and other 3D support software
- Process OEM models for Revit import
- Create families where no OEM model available
- Route process utility piping
- Route process product piping
- Route process conduit & cable tray
- Design supports for equipment and piping
- Develop process installation drawing packages
- Equipment Installation
- Mechanical Utilities
- Electrical Power Feed
- Process Piping
- Drawing types include plan, elevation, isometric, schedule sheets, detail sheets, & lead sheets
- Assist engineers with P&ID or process flow diagram (PFD) drawings as needed
- Collaborate with internal Process team
- Collaborate with other Kavaliro design and construction groups
- Review OEM 2D drawings & 3D model submittals
- Confirm conformance to layout & overall design
- Validate clearance and access requirements are not obstructed
- Conforms to applicable specifications as required
- Drive & coordinate changes with OEM’s and Owners
- Travel as needed to Owner facilities to learn and gather information about existing processes and equipment
- Travel as needed to job sites to support installation by collaborating with Kavaliro site staff, OEM’s, or subcontractors
- Follow all drawing and modeling standards
- Participate in internal process improvement efforts
- Minimum of an Associate degree in drafting or related technical experience
- Mid-level Revit or AutoCAD 3D user with 2+ years of experience
- The following design backgrounds are applicable:
- Industrial food plant design
- Utility & pipe design
- Electrical & controls design
- Sanitary pipe design
- Process skid design
- Occasional travel to customer and site locations (up to 20%)
