Ensure that critical business applications are operational and the health of the infrastructure is not compromised. Monitor the network, applications, security threats and production processes; perform problem diagnostics, tier 1 & 2 support functions and alert and incident management. Serve as a 24x7x365 operations team member.


Primary Functions:
  • Design, implement, support, and monitor all, but not limited to, the following:
    • Data Center production processes
    • Server & storage hardware
    • LAN & WAN services
    • Telephony services
  • Monitor and verify production batch jobs, Enterprise scheduler job and file transfers; analyze FTP logs, troubleshoot problems, cancel/ rerun new batch jobs, and ensure the 24 hours job process SLA’ s are met
  • Test new hardware/ software and new business processes in test/ dev/ UAT environments before production; maintain testing turnover for major projects, as required
  • Create and maintain documentation, shift turnover and event turnover for the team and other IT partners
  • Provide on-site and remote access diagnoses; resolve computer hardware/ software problems and security incident events defined by Enterprise standards
  • Manage and communicate threats, issues and missed SLA levels through incident management and call-out protocols
  • Provide peer review and technical oversight over data center 24 hour processes schedules
  • Perform and maintain analysis to support enterprise health reporting
  • Mentor junior or other members of operations to enhance their understanding and abilities to support production processes
  • Represent Data Center Operations as a technical lead and backup operations supervisor
  • Perform other duties as directed by supervisor 


  • Working knowledge of PSERM and WSFTP/ COREFTP
  • Comprehensive knowledge of all, but not limited to, the following:
    • Data file paths, file structures and DFS
    • Control-M
    • Windows/ LINUX/ UNIX o Monitoring systems (VMware, Websense, Trend-Micro, SolarWinds, SCOM)
    • Network environments and concepts (TCP/ IP, DHCP, DNS, Active Directory)
    • Microsoft server technology and infrastructure platforms (Windows server operating systems, Exchange, SQL, ISA, and Remote Desktop Services)
  • General knowledge of scripting languages (Perl/ PowerShell)
  • General knowledge of the application portfolio including MDM, billing processes and payment vendor processing
  • Basic knowledge of data center operations functions and tasks
  • Ability to serve as a 24x7x365 operations team member; ability to work rotating shifts and call-outs
  • Ability to create and maintain on-line documentation and technical standards
  • Ability to support a variety of technologies, business departments and systems while independently resolving problems and pro-actively communicating solutions
  • Ability to make arithmetic computations using whole numbers, fractions and decimals
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
  • Ability to use standard office equipment (computer, fax, telephone, copier, etc.)
  • Technical certificate or Associate’ s degree in Programming, Computer Science or related area of study Minimum of three (3) years of technical experience with software applications, operating systems and/or script programming
