Kavaliro's client in Lake Mary, FL, seeking an experienced Sr. Collections Specialist to join their team. This role focuses on handling complex and difficult collections accounts, particularly in repossession and mortgage collections. The ideal candidate has a strong background in financial institutions, with credit union experience preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage delinquent and high-risk accounts, ensuring timely resolution while maintaining member relationships.
  • Handle repossession and mortgage collections, navigating complex cases with professionalism.
  • Negotiate payment arrangements and settlements with borrowers while adhering to company policies and compliance regulations.
  • Conduct thorough account research and analysis to determine the best course of action for recovering outstanding balances.
  • Communicate effectively with members, attorneys, and third-party agencies regarding collection efforts.
  • Stay up to date with FDCPA regulations and industry best practices.
Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience in repossession and/or mortgage collections at a financial institution.
  • Credit union experience preferred.
  • Strong expertise in complex collections cases with a proven track record of successful resolutions.
  • Excellent negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining compliance standards.
  • Proficiency in collections software and Microsoft Office Suite.
