Job Overview: The Training and Safety Coordinator is responsible for developing, coordinating, and delivering safety training programs to ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies. The role focuses on educating employees and contractors across all company divisions to work safely, minimizing risks, and fostering a strong safety culture on construction and energy project sites. This role is critical to ensure the safety and compliance of all employees and contractors within the company and its subsidiaries.
Key Responsibilities:

- Safety Training Program Development:
- Design and update comprehensive safety training programs tailored to the specific needs of both electrical construction and renewable energy sectors.
- Develop onboarding and orientation training for new hires, emphasizing safety standards and procedures.
- Implement ongoing training sessions covering general safety practices, job-specific risks, and safety equipment usage.
- Delivery of Safety Training:
- Conduct in-person and online safety training sessions for employees and contractors across both subsidiaries.
- Facilitate daily job site safety meetings, toolbox talks, and specialized training sessions (e.g., electrical safety, fall protection, and first aid/CPR).
- Ensure training is engaging and accessible for employees across all divisions.
- Evaluation and Continuous Improvement:
- Assess the effectiveness of training programs by evaluating employee feedback, testing, and on-the-job performance.
- Continuously refine and update training materials based on regulatory changes, feedback, and safety incidents.
- Track training metrics to ensure compliance and performance targets are met.
- Compliance with Safety Standards:
- Ensure training content aligns with OSHA standards, National Electrical Code (NEC), and other relevant safety regulations.
- Stay informed about regulatory updates in both the construction and renewable energy sectors and incorporate changes into the training curriculum.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of employee certifications and training completions.
- Training Logistics and Coordination:
- Organize safety training schedules and coordinate the delivery of training sessions across different project sites.
- Maintain a database of employee training histories, ensuring timely certification renewals.
- Collaborate with external training providers when specialized or advanced training is required.
- Training Materials and Resources:
- Develop training manuals, presentations, e-learning modules, and other materials that meet the specific needs of both electrical construction and renewable energy operations.
- Ensure materials are kept current and reflect the latest industry practices and regulations.
- Incident-Driven Training:
- Coordinate retraining efforts in response to workplace incidents, accidents, or safety violations, ensuring lessons learned are integrated into future safety practices.
- Conduct refresher training as needed to address gaps identified through incident reports or audits.
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with project managers, site supervisors, and human resources to identify training needs and ensure employees receive appropriate safety education.
- Work with the Safety Managers and fill in when necessary. This may mean temporary site assignments when needed.
- Communicate training outcomes and improvements to senior management.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Construction Management, or a related field (preferred).
- Experience: 3-5 years of experience in safety training, with a preference for experience in electrical construction or renewable energy sectors.
- Certifications: OSHA 500 certification is required; additional certifications (e.g., Certified Electrical Safety Compliance Professional (CESCP)) are a plus.
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, NEC, and industry-specific safety protocols.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and learning management systems (LMS).
